Potato and Cheese Whip 6 to 8 large potatoes 3 Tablespoons butter or margerine 1/3 cup milk 1/4 tsp. salt black pepper 1/4 tsp. onion powder (optional) 1 1/2 to 2 cups grated old Cheddar cheese Peel potatoes, cut into quarters. Cook in boiling salted water for about 30 minutes until tender. Meanwhile, grease a large casserole dish, such as a 9 inch square baking dish. Set aside. Preheat oven to 350 F. When potatoes are done, drain and put into a large bowl. Mash potatoes and add the butter. Beat with electric mixer until fairly smooth. Continuing to beat, gradually add the milk and the seasonings. Beat potatoes until they are light and fluffy. Fold in the grated cheese and put into casserole dish. Smooth top. Bake, uncovered, in 350 F. oven for about 30 minutes.
