Beef Stew 2 beef steaks, can be chuck or other cheap cut The following, all to your taste - steak spice garlic salt onion powder salt and pepper ---- 4 potatoes, peeled and cut into bite sized pieces 1 onion, sliced 1 cup carrots, sliced 1 cup frozen green beans 1 can kernel corn 5 cups of water or consomme soup and water OXO flavoring if you don't use consomme ---- Brown the steaks in a frying pan and add the seasonings. Put the vegetables into the crock pot, in the order shown. After meat is cooked, add two cups of water to the pan, and scrape up the meat bits. Add all this to the crockpot. Add more water and/or consomme soup to the crockpot, until the liquid just covers the contents. (You don't want to have the liquid boil over once it's begun to cook) Set the slow cooker to "high" for about 4 hours, or to "low" for about 8 hours.
