Setting Out

I must have no expectations -
(Only faith and hope).
I pray if I'm rejected
I'll have the strength to cope.

Well, it's worth the steps I'm taking,
To face the unknown,
For maybe there is Someone
Just waiting by the phone.

And it's worth the risk of losing
What I've never had
To take the chance that, maybe,
Someone else will be glad.

Now I'm ready to seek the truth -
Whatever it may be.
Perhaps it's part of growing,
To face reality.
