Chinese Style Chow Mein 1 package steamed [fresh] noodles 2 cups thinly sliced beef, pork, or chicken 1 cup sliced onion or green onions 1 cup sliced celery 3 cups fine chopped cabbage [or sprouts] 3 Tablespoons soy sauce [we usually use more] salt and pepper 1/4 cup water and some Bovril for flavor 2 scrambled eggs, shredded 2Tablespoons vegetable oil Boil steamed noodles in boiling, salted water for 1 minute. Strain and rinse in cold water. Drain well. Heat oil in pan. Add meat. Stir fry until meat is golden brown. Add onion, celery, soy sauce, salt and pepper. Stir fry about 3 minutes. Add cabbage slivers and 1/4 cup of water. Cover. Simmer 2 minutes. Garnish with scrambled eggs and serve.
