Hunter's Beef 1 1/2 pounds boneless bottom round beef steak, 3/4 inch thick 2 Tablespoons flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 2 Tablespoons oil 3 stalks celery cut into 1 1/2 inch lengths 1/2 pound mushrooms, cut in half 1 bunch green onions, cut into 1 1/2 inch lengths 1/3 cup red wine or water 3 Tablespoons soy sauce 1/2 teaspoon ginger 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper Cut meat into serving size pieces. Combine flour, salt and pepper. With a mallet, pound seasoned flour into meat. Heat oil in skillet over medium high heat. Add meat and brown on both sides. Add the celery, mushrooms and green onion to pan. Combine the wine (or water), soy sauce, ginger, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper and then pour over the meat. Simmer covered for 1 to 1 and 1/4 hours or until meat is tender.
